چکیده

Methodology for cracking evolution simulation in 90-plies during cyclic loading is suggested this paper. It includes using low crack density (where the neighboring cracks do not interact with each other) data from quasi-static and testing (at one load) to determine parameters Weibull transverse failure stress distribution generalized fatigue. Then, Monte Carlo process used assign elements 90-ply. In model, of element degrades number cycles a appears when becomes equal element, calculated computationally efficient analytical method. The model successfully predict whole range. test at load sufficient damage different load. results suggest that dependence on slightly underestimated shape parameter fatigue may be higher than tests. Therefore, tests least two levels are recommended reliable predictions.

Cracking in brittle laminates from concentrated loads

A study is made of the crack resistance of multilaminates consisting of brittle layers interleaved with compliant interlayers and bonded to compliant substrates. Specific attention is paid to flexure-generated radial cracks in the undersurfaces of individual glass layers from concentrated loads applied at the top surfaces. A proposed condition for acceptance of such multilayer systems is that r...

Ratcheting crystal plasticity modeling in microstructure of magnesium alloy under stress-controlled cyclic tensile loading with non-zero mean stress

Todays, the requirement of lowering the vehicle weight for the reduction of the fuel consumption and emissions, one of the methods considered by designers is to use the ligh magnesium alloy under cylclic loadings. In this article, considering the microstructure of the AZ91D magnesium alloy, its crystalline structure, a model for predicting the ratcheting behavior of this alloy was adapted and v...

Interconnect Failure due to Cyclic Loading

The damage generated by AC currents at 100 Hz in interconnects has been studied and compared with mechanical fatigue damage in thin films. The nature of the damage under the two loading conditions is qualitatively similar, supporting the idea that the AC current damage comes from mechanical cycling due to temperature swings on the order of 100 K from Joule heating in the interconnects. In both ...

Acoustic Emission during Stress Corrosion Cracking Test

AE monitoring from various types of stress corrosion cracking (SCC) has been conducted for the past 15 years in our laboratory. This paper discusses AE results of active-path dissolution-type SCC of austenitic stainless steel in chloride solution and fused salt, fluoride and polythionic acid solutions, brass in ammonia (Mattosson's solution), and carbon steels in nitrite solution. Transgranular...
